Covid Exposure at our Nourish Edgewood Food Bank

Today, October 26, 2021, we received word that an individual who volunteered at the Edgewood Nourish Food Bank on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (October 21-23) of last week has TESTED POSITIVE to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID -19). 

If you have visited the Edgewood Nourish Food Bank in the past week and have concerns about COVID-19, we recommend that you ISOLATE, TEST and SEEK information from public health organizations such as the Tacoma Pierce County Health, Department  World Health Organization (WHO) or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control or consult with your healthcare professional.

Nourish has CLOSED the Edgewood Food Bank for two weeks. The next service date will be no sooner than November 13th.

Grocery Rescue Driver

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour

One of the ways that Nourish receives food for our food banks is through recovering food from grocery and retail outlets. This position is responsible for the coordination and pick-up of food from local grocery partners and delivering it to Nourish’s food banks and warehouse. This position will build on existing food waste recovery relationships to reduce food waste and improve food availability at Nourish food banks. This position ensures a warm and welcoming environment through their interactions with clients, volunteers, staff and community partners. This position demonstrates effective leadership and good public relations skills.

This is a temporary position funded by a grant provided by the Washington State Department of Ecology.
