| Hello, I hope this message finds you well. Today, I’m reaching out to share some important news—and a critical request for your help. For the past decade, Nourish has been honored to partner with the City of Tacoma, working together to support thousands of families in need. Through the challenges of growth, transitions, and even the pandemic, we’ve stood side by side with our neighbors, providing food, comfort, and dignity to nearly 30,000 Tacoma residents in 2024 alone. Our community is counting on us, and we are deeply grateful for your support. However, this year, Nourish faces an unprecedented challenge. The City of Tacoma is grappling with a $26 million shortfall, and as a result, Nourish did not receive any funding this year—despite our longstanding partnership, positive outcomes, and high score on our application. The City did not allocate as much funding for food as it has in prior years. This is a devastating blow for us and, more importantly, for the many families who rely on our food banks. To continue our work, we need to raise $120,000 to fill this gap. But the challenges don’t stop there. Last week, we received alarming news from one of our partner agencies that provides us with large amounts of food: due to inventory shortages, the amount of food available to us is rapidly decreasing. As a result, we’re forced to buy more food at higher prices, but even this isn’t enough to meet the growing demand. Food bank visits in the City of Tacoma have spiked by nearly 19% this year, and we’ve had to reduce the amount of food we can provide to each guest. No one should have to face hunger, and yet, without your help, that is the harsh reality many are facing. This is where you come in. We urgently need to raise the funds to cover both the loss of City funding and the escalating cost of food. Your support will help us ensure that our neighbors do not go hungry, and that Nourish continues to be a beacon of hope for those in need. Will you make a gift today?
